If you are speaking of USB drives, most of them say how they are
currently formatted on the box. Most used to be FAT32 with more and more
now coming formatted in NTFS.

As far as the MAC, depending on how and what the drive is used with,
how it is formatted usually doesn't matter. I drag and drop files to a
FAT32 drive that I use on an XP PC then connect it to my Mac Mini and
drag and drop again.

To be more specific, we would need more details to be more specific as
to what could and couldn't be done.
