I am getting the same problem. I am playing apple lossless files (created using itunes) direct from an external USB drive into the touch.
It sounds great, but about half the songs I play lose the last 10 to 30 seconds. If anyone finds a solution (other than re-ripping all my cds!) I'd be pleased to hear about it.
