Wouldn't it be helpful if there were some kind of drive diagnostic on the Touch itself that could quickly determine whether a plugged-in drive's power requirement and free space availability were within the Touch's parameters - like some kind of stress test that would generate some kind of trappable error if the drive failed to operate properly under the load? Just wondering...
