I don't think there is ever going to be an official USB DAC option in the Touch, its not the market they are aiming at. I'm going to be putting together an applet that you can download that will enable you to send the music to a USB DAC.
Its NOT going to be plug and play, you will have to plug in the DAC and bring up the menu and select the USB DAC. Doing true plug and play will take some udev programming that is out of my expertise.
