I would tend to agree with Jim. Rebuffering tends to be a WiFi/Network
issue. The drive is attached directly to the Touch, what is there to
buffer?

What compression did you use when you ripped the CDs to FLAC? Are the
problem files 24/96 or just any old file? How full is the drive? The
Touch needs some working space on the hard drive so if its filled
completely up with music its going to be a problem.

One last thing I have noticed with the larger USB drives, it seems it
is best to wait for it to say its completed doing all scanning before
using the Touch. Might have nothing to do with anything, but I have had
best results doing that. Just go to Settings>Advanced>Squeezebox Server
and wait until it says it has completed. Then enjoy.
