So we have to get you to see the log files! There are two methods:
share over the network, and login with SSH. Have you tried both?

For the "share" approach you need to enable USB sharing. This also
enables sharing of the log files even if you don't have a USB drive
connected. There should be something under settings->advanced along the
lines of USB, go in there and there should be an item for sharing. Turn
it on. It will take several seconds before you get the little square to
light up indicating the share is turned on. When this happens you will
see a user name and password on the screen, remember these, you will
need them to connect.

Then you can use any other computer on the network to access the
logfiles. The Touch may not show up if you have changed the workgroup
on the computer. The Touch uses a workgroup name of WORKGROUP (which is
the default name under windows). If this is the problem you can access
the Touch directly. Click on the start button, then run. Type in:
\\<Touch IP adderss> Note: these are backslashes

For me that would be:

\\192.168.1.102

If you don't know the Touch's IP address you can find it under
settings->advanced->diagnostics.

Now you SHOULD get the login screen to the touch share. This is where
you type in the username and password you remembered from above.

At this point you should see a window with some files, click on log.
Inside that should be a file called messages, this is the one you want.
Click on it and select wordpad to read it (don't use notepad).

Down at the bottom should be information about what was happening most
recently.

If this does not work let us know exactly what you tried and what
happened.
