Hey Rooster (Sounds like a funky kinda guy!)... Anyhows, i bought an Audioengine A2 last week since i wanted some good sounding speakers in the bedroom which didnt take up too much space. My old Denon mini with 2 shelf sized speakers was good but took up valuable bedside space. I opted for Audioengine based on good user reviews, which comment on the depth of the sound. Connected them up expecting a decent sound but i must admit i was blown away with the sound produced from such small speakers! They are connected to my Touch using analogue RCA (upgraded ones as opposed to the ones supplied with the Touch). The two speakers are about 2 meters apart and conencted via a heavy duty speaker wire from Maplin. I initially put the volume on the Touch to 100% and set the volume on the Audioengine speakers until the sound was very loud and just before it became boomy. After that, i leave the volume on the Audioengine as it is and just use the Touch volume control. The volume control on the Audioengine also acts as an on/of for the speakers. I may buy one of those remote control plug switches and use that to turn off the speakers instead of fiddling with the volume every time. Pleased with the purchase, only gutted i hadn't discovered them before! If i say that with the A2's, imagine what the A5's sound like....
