Of all the people who come to me for advice on "those computer thingies", it's my mom who is the least knowledgeable and also the easiest to help. If I tell her backups are important, I can rest assured she dutifylly makes frequent backups of the company accounting data. If I install a program to handle a specific task I know I won't find it replaced by some bastardized "build of the day" abomination because someone on the internet told her it was the coolest thing. Only problem is supporting over the phone, understanding her terminology when describing what is the problem takes quite a bit of imagination.
