I have moved the music collection, without editing album art or tags, to the WD Elements 500 GB. Looks like this is a more stable solution. The 'local music service stopped'-error has popped up one more time, but only during the initial scan, when I was messing around with internet radio in the meantime.
The drive is a bit slower than the 2,5" bus-powered one (longer time between selection of albums and actual music start).
