Rayman1701, you proved to be right after all. After cleaning up tags & removing non-music files from the drive, less error messages popped up. But since I haven't been able to stop the error from occuring altogether, I made the switch to running a full server. I'm using the same external drive, but now connected to an old desktop computer, using Vortexbox. Scrolling through the collection is significantly smoother.
