I have a rock solid system at home, but only the controller is WIFI. Everything else is ethernet connected. But my brother has a system with a touch and boom and it is all WIFI connected and works out of the box with no tinkering from him. I just set up a boom, wifi only, at the 80+ year old mother of a friend. She uses it for pandora and internet radio and it just works.
key: you must have a robust network (wifi in particular). Streaming audio is much more demanding than surfing the web or doing email. In my opinion, 90%+ of the Squeezebox problems reported here are actually network problems. These are network music players so the network must work correctly. I've never used the SONOS but have a few friends that have them. A lot less flexibility than the SB but I suppose the built-in wifi net gives them an edge for the plug and play crowd. That said, my SB experience has been virtually plug and play, and I have 6 SB players in current use at two different locations. There really is no "answer" to your question. Sort of like discussing driving a porche vs a bmw. Both work and in either case you can have issues. -- garym ------------------------------------------------------------------------ garym's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=17325 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=84267 _______________________________________________ Touch mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
