I have qnap ts-119II and i have this kind of problems only with hires files. 119II has 1.2GHz cpu and 512MB RAM, it is just enough for sbs. Try to turn off all services on Qnap which you don't need or use, leave only sbs. A faster hd with 64MB cache can also help.
