make shure that you use MySQL Server and not SQLite (settings ->
advanced -> performance -> MySQL Server). This immediately solved the
problem for me. No more stuttering at all though I exclusively play
flacs and many of them are 96/24-files. After changing this setting to
MySQL Server, make sure that you do a rescan of the music files (delete
old database) and leave the Touch alone until the rescan is completed.

My setup: Squeezeplug (Debian Linux 6.0) running Squeezeboxserver
Version: 7.6.0 - r31707 with USB-drive attached to it. Touch running
firmware 7.6.0-r9281 with addition of Soundcheck's mods "Touch Toolbox
V2" for substancial improvement of the sound
(http://soundcheck-audio.blogspot.com/2011/01/soundchecks-squeezebox-touch-toolbox-20.html#more).
The entire setup runs on wired LAN.

This setup runs smoothly, sounds greater than ever and stuttering is a
thing of the past.

P.S. I did not believe that Soundcheck's Mods would make such a big
difference in sound quality until I heard it for myself. Stunning!
