Glad to hear it's working now. Persistence is worth it. Just to be clear on one more thing. Now that you are using the Touch connected directly to your DAC, and bypassing the pc's soundcard, Squeezeplay on the laptop is only one of many options for controlling playback. Other possibilities include:
1) any web browser on any computer on your home network. Point the browser to http://<SBS_IP>:9000/ , but in place of <SBS_IP> substituting the real IP address or computer name of the computer that is running SBS. 2) alternative "front-ends" to SBS, such as Moose or muso (search these forums if you are interested) 3) a true handheld device, such as a Squeezebox Duet Controller. Or even better, an Android phone, iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad with suitable app. 4) and of course, if the Touch's screen is still sufficiently visible now that it's connected to your DAC, you can use the Touch's infrared remote. 5) finally, if the coax cable connecting the Touch to the DAC is long enough, you could go back to holding the Touch on the couch.
