According to the user the NAS has 7.5.3. Perhaps they should double check the WebUI/Settings/Information of the NAS. The user's change to the conf file looks like a 7.5.3 looks correct which means the problem is in the transcode support apps. I think the creator of the port has either botched the port or deliberately changed the convert.conf file to use alac instead of faad because the version of faad/sox supplied is not up to date, was found not to work with ALAC and so cannot provide the required transcoding. Either way - the problem should be notified back to whoever created the SBS port.
