the other instances are probably ok if not started/opened. But keep in
mind that you only need ONE instance of SbS running on a computer. If
you want to control the SB player from another room, you simply enter
the IP address of the computer where SBS is running in a web browser.

For example, I have SbS running on my main home server. That computer
has a static IP address of 192.168.1.18.  To access SqueezeboxServer
(SbS) from ANY other computer in my home network (my laptop, my wife's
laptop, etc.), I simply enter the following in the address bar of any
of these computer's web browser (firefox, safari, chrome, IE, etc.):

http://192.168.1.18:9000/

And this will open up the SbS for controlling things.  I do NOT need to
have a separate SbS program running on the other computers.
