John & Toby, Many, many thanks for your helpful advice and assistance.
I sat down and had a go when I got in from work this evening. I hard reset both the SB Touch and my router and, as John suggested, went into my computer's control panel and disabled the windows' firewall, even though the SB Server was listed as enabled to pass through. Not sure which step fixed the glitch but suddenly, and much to my delight, the player has finally decided to connect to the server. I had a Netgear MP101 before this so was half expecting several days of head scratching and tweaking before anything happened so this was a relatively easy fix! I'm certainly very pleased that I don't need to contact Logitech support over this or that my touch hardware was damaged by the power outage. I very much appreciate the thoughts and suggestions from you all.
