Hi LJG I am in a similar position to you. The posts that your entry follows are quite old and I suspect that the market is changing very rapidly. Not long ago a NAS seemed to be a "mini-server" and cost a couple of limbs - without a hard-disk installed! More recently, it looks to me as though manufacturers have been revisiting the "external drive" format and adding NAS gubbins (a technical term) to them. I've been looking at the Western Western Digital My Book Edition II 2TB Dual Drive Network Storage (about GBP 170)which contains two disks set up so that one is a back-up to the other. I'm sure that there are more knowledgeable members out there who can explain why we need to spend much more and if we are lucky we will even understand the answer!
