I've been having this same problem for a while now. I installed the latest nightly on Windows Home Server yesterday, but this did not fix it.
My music is generally purchased from iTunes, so tends to be AAC. I have tried other builds from 7.5 upwards, but have the same issue. Tracks skips randomly - some will play fine, others will skip within a few seconds of the start, or half way through. I'll have a go with some earlier ones having spotted the download page posted above for all previous versions. I'm sure I didnt have this in 6.x - but I will try from 7.3.4 and work my way downwards. Both devices I am having issues with are SB2, one is wired and one is wireless.
