Well, taking a guess at some possible explanations:
-  someone mistyped the version # in the code, so it really is 7.6
-  the nightly is truly borked with the incorrect version
-  you have SBS 7.5 running somewhere on your network

All wild guesses, just thinking out loud.

If you are having that many issues with 7.6 and don't need to connect
to MySB.com directly I'd just go back to 7.5, assuming that was working
for you.
