it is alway possible,but there maybe be no easy graphical tool to use .
You may have to learn to setup static ip on both devices , if you now
SSH your good to go , most NAS boxes and Touch uses a simple Linux so
the tools is the same as any linux without graphical interface .
But soem NAS vendors may have made it less onvius or even tries to
twart such attemps , I never used a synology ? so what do I know .

maybe pulling som cat5 wiring is not so hard to do after all mand move
the NAS closer to the office and have a long cat5 wire to the Touch .
keep everything at the same network, then you easilly put new files on
it with the PC .

You don't want to lug around the NAS and redo it's network settings to
connect it to the PC ? Your NAS directly to Touch aproach involwes
turning of dhcp on the NAS so it wont automaticall y conect to your
normal network.

If you are uncomfortable without DCHP (automatic network
ip/dns/gateway/network assignment ) .
You really want to connect everything to the normal network
