it is alway possible, but there maybe be no easy graphical tool to use . You may have to learn to setup static ip on both devices , if you now SSH your good to go , most NAS boxes and Touch uses a simple Linux so the tools is the same as any linux without graphical interface . But soem NAS vendors may have made it less onvius or even tries to twart such attemps , I never used a synology ? so what do I know .
maybe pulling som cat5 wiring is not so hard to do after all mand move the NAS closer to the office and have a long cat5 wire to the Touch . keep everything at the same network, then you easilly put new files on it with the PC . You don't want to lug around the NAS and redo it's network settings to connect it to the PC ? Your NAS directly to Touch aproach involwes turning of dhcp on the NAS so it wont automaticall y conect to your normal network. If you are uncomfortable without DCHP (automatic network ip/dns/gateway/network assignment ) . You really want to connect everything to the normal network -- Mnyb -------------------------------------------------------------------- Main hifi: Touch + CIA PS +MeridianG68J MeridianHD621 MeridianG98DH 2 x MeridianDSP5200 MeridianDSP5200HC 2 xMeridianDSP3100 +Rel Stadium 3 sub.
