I'll add that nobody is expecting it to be done in 10 minutes. But Squeezeboxes softwares have proved that disabling this basic behavior is a dead end (which other software is behaving this way ?)
This should be number one priority. All development efforts done without that are, in my opinion, doomed, and will lead to the end of the product line.
