/usr/squeezecenter/Slim/Utils/OS/SqueezeOS.pm
And change the line:
$defaults->{autorescan} = 1;
To:
$defaults->{autorescan} = 0;
And then restart.
I think changing /etc might work as long as you don't change the USB
drive but I think changing the USB drive re-writes the
/etc/squeezecenter/prefs/server.prefs file and overwrite the changes,
but changing the above SqueezeOS.pm file should avoid this.
If anyone tries this, let me know how it works, if it solves the issues
I'll make a patch or applet for it unless someone else feels up to the
task.
