Okay, thinking about it today, I realized that I am in a tiny bit of shock about how good the SB Touch sounds, but I really want to put it on a better DAC, and all the better DACs I have run Asynch USB.
John Swenson (I hope I got that name right :)) has done some incredible work getting USB output from the Touch. The sound from the touch running though an Async USB DAC is - glorious. Really really good. Amazing so, except it is ruined by snap cracke and pop noises that occur occasionally. Often enough to make the music unlistenable. Still the SB sounds really good going into a small DAC through S/PDIF. I bet the problem with Async USB Dacs will get fixed sooner or later (!) but in the meantime, I was wondering if the sound from the Logitech Transporter is better than the sound from the touch. Rather, is it enough better to warrant buying one? Looking of course, for opinion.
