I don't get why people keep saying that Sonos has a better architecture
and better stability. I think the Squeezebox stability mostly depends on
the stability of your network. Sonos is also more limiting.

Sonos: 65.000 track limit (which can be as low as 40.000-45.000,
depending on your tags)
Sonos: HD Audio, what's that? (Limited to 44.100Khz/16bit)
No 3rd party extensions.

What I also don't get is that they refuse to upgrade their hardware to
better specs, so these limits wouldn't be an issue anymore. Even the
latest hardware has to deal with these issues. (Based on the same 10
year old architecture)

This does't mean that you shouldn't consider Sonos, it's a good
concept. What's more, there's a company behind it that's dedicated to
the product.
