It really wasn't designed to be a portable player. If that's why you
bought it, the mistake is yours.

If you want something to take to parties, think of an ipod or its
equivalent or a smartphone, plus a $5 connection cable. Or use your
laptop and that same connection cable.  

You should feel free to sell your Touch and buy a Sonos to punish
Logitech, if that's what you think you're doing. 

It's true that the internal server function has not lived up to
expectations, but most don't view that as a mission critical function.
The work-around alternative (use a laptop) is so trivially easy, it's
hardly worth getting upset about.
