Well I don't want to rain on your significant improvement parade.

I see the same message about downconverting to 1.4mbits, but my dac
still lights up 24/96, so I'm thinking it's just a cosmetic issue.

I guess there's the slim possibility it's down converting to 16/44 and
then back up again.
