Ok, so I hooked up a simple 5-port switch between the vbox and sqbox, router is no longer connected.
Seems to be working fine so far, no glitches after a few hours of playback, fingers crossed. So assuming it's fixed, it seems to be an issue with the router. Of course I'm now not able to rip more cd's, and I can't control from my ipad. Next step will be to connect the router to the 5-port switch, to see if A.the problem returns, B. the vbox and sqbox can talk to the internet, and C. I can resume control with the ipad... ...I'm hoping that the new 5-port switch will allow the sqbox and vbox to talk to each other more directly, bypassing whatever glitch the router was causing. I'll keep y'all posted.
