Well we have the Playlist manager plugin that makes it possible to add to playlists that are not curently playing .
Myself I use iPeng HD it works also by context meny in some fashion but faster and smother . So my on the fly whaking together a temporary list is done from my sofa with an iPad . before ipad i used a controller , basically i can not see whats going on the display on my Touch from my listening position (the display is to bad/small ) so I need something handheld to make any selection at all . otherwise I have to walk up to it and fumble with the Touch screen, works to . After a long while as a squeezebox user you get better at it and do not blow up your playlist , that's what have friends for they do it when visiting ;) So deleting party mode was not good .
