Me too, the Spotify network tends to be overloaded in the eveneing. Yesterday it began at 4.40PM to begin rebuffering constantly. Before that time there wasn't one hickup.
The spotify plug-in cannot make use of the peer-2-peer technology, which the PC&MAC and I think also the official Logitech-plugin are using, so you can feeling the server bottlenecks instantly, while the other clients can play fine. I'm in my trial now at spotify, and I will not pay for it afterwards, because I think that the folks at Spotify don't care about it, and will not invest in upgrading their servers, when there are other solutions that work. When you look around, the Sonos players have the same problem in the evening.
