Some of what is listed works, some do not.  People making these drives
are constantly coming out w new models which makes it difficult to
develop a list of what works and keep it up to date. I would recommend
you get your drive locally and check on exchange policy in case you
have issues.

I used a Toshiba Canvio 2.0 1TB drive this way for about nine months. I
was running SBS 7.5.3. It had approx 18K FLAC files on it at the time.
Approx 1/2 of these had imbedded artwork max size 150 x 150. I switched
to wifi because adding files was a pain in that each time I added files
I disconnected the drive and then had to do a complete rescan. If you
go the route you speak of leave the Touch powered on. Otherwise you are
probably going to do a rescan. Make sure you have a 2nd drive as a
backup for WHEN the primary one dies.
