I was looking for a receiver a HK 3390 or the HK 3490. I wanted to hook up: recordplayer, tv(audio),cd player/dvdplayer, htpc and a touch.
I thought I had to go for the 3490 because of the buildin DAC and 2 digital inputs, but I just saw a topic here someone mentioned the touch had a good DAC. I'm not a audiophile purist(you could tell on the money I'm NOT spending :-)). I just want to have a nice setup for mostly playing music and which is a bit future proof(I build my own htpc about 5 years back and it's still being able to record 3 digital streams(SD)and watch another). Now I have hooked my HTPC to a audio switch which runs to a pioneer stereo. As I understand I don't need a receiver with dac for the touch? And will the sound from my htpc benefit from a buildin dac?
