I did try them and didn't think there was any improvement over my TOUCH with Benchmark DAC I (fed by S/PDIF coax). This was back at TT2.0. You can search the forums and find others like me that tried and can "take or leave" TT, but you'll also find plenty of posts that include things like, "the skies opened, the veil lifted, and in my 30 years of listening I've never heard anything at any price that compares." In my personal opinion, all that is simply nonsense and expectation bias run wild. But I'm sure a few of the usual suspects will followup with posts on this thread that point out that (a) my system is not revealing enough, or (b) I'm not open enough to hear differences that are really there, or (3) I'm just against progress and I'm a shill for Logitech. I don't think any of those are true, but you can be the judge. The TOUCH is a very nice unit at even twice the price (i've got two new in boxes purchased on sale sitting in my office right now as potential replacements, just in case they are discontinued). I would have no hesitation in telling someone to purchase the TOUCH instead of the duet receiver, even if the TOUCH cost $100 more. But I have a harder time telling someone to *replace* the duet receiver with a TOUCH if I think that they are expecting really significant change in the audio stream. Heck a little bit of room treatment and/or speaker placement adjustments could likely do MUCH more than the duet receiver vs touch input. This is *particularly* true if both are feeding a good DAC. Anyhow, at my house more SB players is always better than less. So in your shoes, I'd buy the TOUCH, use it and find another use for the duet receiver (back patio with some powered Audioengine A2s or A5s..... ;-) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ garym's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=17325 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=95790 _______________________________________________ Touch mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
