Exactly! Replacing the Duet with the Touch just means that you now the
Duet available to become the source unit for another location such as
bedroom, home office, etc.

I completely agree. When using an external DAC the differences between
the two units is not 
night and day" although I do notice a slight improvement in the bass
when using the Touch.
