That makes sense, I guess in my case some of those bullet points can be ruled out because... - I don't own a Touch, so I am best off concentrating my efforts into finding a computer which natively works with USB out. - It's simple to find a silent computer without having to customise nowadays. - The display matters not to me as long as I have a good smart phone remote as my navigation tool. In fact don't most of you tweakers turn the display off anyway? - Again a smart phone can control the OS on a computer - I don't like to tweak I just want to get on with playing the music, but if I 'have' to tweak in order to get the most out of it then I will (without getting a soldering iron out). - For me a NAS would be unnecessary because all my music would fit on a Solid State Drive, even though a NAS would work with a computer. - I don't use multi-room So for me at least, starting afresh, it would be silly to invest in a SBT which requires an EDO tweak in order to connect to a USB DAC - i.e. does not do USB out by design. Perhaps the only thing in my mind that would support the SBT is that it is a dedicated music machine, whereas a Computer needs tweaking in order to shut off unnecessary background tasks etc, however a Computer is likely to have a much faster processor. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ stop-spinning's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=43254 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=94512 _______________________________________________ Touch mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
