Yes ,in industrial environments ,but the very short runs you have at
home and Ethernet being low impedance current loops (differential )
screen is rarely needed it is very imune anyway .
Instead you have the much greater potential to introduce a nasty ground
loops , and it may not be trivial to figure where to gnd the cable or
what a certain switch or router is capable of re ground , my cheap and
cheerful consumer router has no real ground connection.
