OK, this is just my understanding of how it works, so I hope people jump in if I have misunderstood something. As far as I have understood, the server asks the player for what formats it is capable of handling, and the player responds with all the ones it can handle, in order of preference. When the server wants to play a file, it first checks if the player can handle it natively. If yes, then no transcoding is done, if not, then it runs down the list of preferred formats the player can handle and pics the first one it knows how to transcode to. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Julf's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=42050 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=98063 _______________________________________________ Touch mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
