I also wanted the small footprint of a USB powered drive. I followed most of the tips in this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?82070-Touch-with-USB-drive-mastering-TinySB&highlight=jean2 For about 1-2 weeks the Toshiba USB powered drive worked fine, then TinyLMS became unreliable. One day, while it was off, tinyLMS crashed and corrupted the database files. I could never get it to rescan successfully. The original scan took two hours. When I switched to the old western digital (WD) powered drive, the scan took about 10 minutes. I don't think tags or artwork was a problem, it was a power issue. The WD drive is a little noisy, so if TinyLMS becomes reliable, I will get a powered USB hub and switch back to the small and quiet Toshiba drive. I have been looking into a vortexbox, but I really don't want to spend that amount of money, or the headache of running another system. I have looked at the Squeezeplug, but since I don't know linux, I am hesitant to go down that path too. Good luck! ------------------------------------------------------------------------ P Nelson's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=58158 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=98291 _______________________________________________ Touch mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
