Yes. I'm using one now in that manner. I don't currently have a place in my house for my Touch as a player. But I have a Transporter in my living room, a Radio in my bathroom, and an SB2 on top of the kitchen cabinets that I usually keep in sync. I have the Touch sitting on the kitchen table, controlling the Transporter, so I can easily control music throughout the house using its convenient interface.
