Notice that this rate (converted to 705 flac) is not actually true , just a placeholder it's roughly correct if it where a 16/44.1 file . In case of 24/96 the transcoding is from 24/96 alac to 24/96 flac or wav . So the Touch should really show another value here . You can fetch the actual SoX commandline in the log if you use debug and are paranoid :) I'm stumped why you can play 24/96 alac i do admit that dont regurarly use alac i prefer flac I only have test files for these purposes .
