I've seen other threads on this, but no clear solutions. My SB Touch ends most songs prematurely and skips to the next. This is a new behavior in recent weeks; it used to work fine. It happens while streaming from my PC (FLAC or MP3 files), which again used to play fine. It's not at the same point in a song each time; it's more random. I tried a wired connection rather than wireless, but no change.
I initially thought it was the server, but upgrading from 7.7.4 to 7.9 made no difference, nor did downgrading to 7.6.1 (I'm now on 7.8). I also tried running the server in safe mode. My Squeezebox Radio works fine, so that argues against a server problem. So, I think it's the Touch itself. I did a factory reset, but it's still doing it. I don't see anything in the log that--to me--is helpful, but I'm not really sure what I'm looking at. I'm running SB server on a Windows 8.1 machine. It's not a slow computer--core i7 CPU and 16 GB of RAM. That's the only change I can think of--it used to be on a Windows 7 computer with a slower CPU, and I had no skipping.
