Thanks, I guessed that. Tried again and got a little further. This time, after deleting the image folder from the stick, it found the music files and there were 6,000+. It then started "scanning" them and failed. The error was that the stick hadn't been properly ejected (it had but it shouldn't matter!) or it just went back to the menu which refused proper eject. At the fail point it was saying c.50 minutes left to scan so I wouldn't have continued anyway. Whoever designed the software hadn't a clue: it is wholly unreasonable to expect users to encounter nearly an hour delay before playing music on a stick! Or maybe they thought it was reasonable? I can see the flaw: trying to do too much for the on board hardware so caching to the stick which has just under 2gb free space: exceed that space and the thing fails dirtily. Too ambitious, extremely poor software design and not tested from the end user standpoint - no wonder Logitech dropped it. Damned shame: if I had the funds I'd lead a team to redesign it. Most of it has now been done before so it will be easy and (as I used to) I'd test it to destruction before public release. As I said, my Roberts Internet radio is ready to play music from the same stick instantly, just insert stick, select Music Player, select USB, navigate the folder structure (no stupid album, artist, song searches or playlists) and hit play - simple! Oh and many thanks for the replies. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Mardler's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=56487 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=103282 _______________________________________________ Touch mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
