My 0,02$ just drop the whole onboard server capacity and accept that.
Touch is a network player for a proper LMS server . The hardware will
never show the best side of the server , no plugins no web-UI no
transcoding .

And yes it has to be a server . The player is the same as always , the
diference is that now the server runs locally on the player .
You do apriciate how much heavy lifting the server does in background .

This is partly historical the orignL players before touch cant show a
line of text in ui without the server they where just an ui and a
interface to the server .

The squeezeplay devices radio and touch ( and controller ) can do more
thngs locally .

But i assume they got tempted the. Touch is marginAlly able to run a
version of the server if stripped of some funtionality .

I would try a very small selection of songs on an ext3 or fat32
formatted stick ...

My piont they should have released the Touch as the terrific player it
is , this added functionality only adds griefe if Nyone tries to use it
creating badwill hence my opinoin to just drop it .
