I finally took the time to look into this matter. It's been hectic since my initial post and I was relying on my optical cable until now.
I tried the factory reset but this didn't help. What helped was connecting a good DIY cable I bought from a trustworthy source. The problem was just that, my "cheap" coaxial cable bought in mediamarkt just wouldn't work. I feel pretty stupid for having bothered you guys but also happy to have solved this and to know that nothing is wrong with my SBT.
