Sorry I was not being clear. Yes I meant sending the stream from SB Touch to a DoP capable DAC.
>>> "DSD (dsf) can be converted to pcm and played on a PCM-only player/DAC, or it can be repackaged (not converted - the contents of the bits stay the same) into DoP and played on a DSD-capable DAC." <<< Actually there is a way to "convert" DSF files into pseudo FLAC files to fool the Squeezebox player into thinking it is playing a FLAC file. When all that file is is a DSF file encapsulated with DoP header and a FLAC wrapper. if that makes sense at all. In fact, I was successful in converting a whole bunch of files using this method and successfully played DSF files natively using Squeezeboox. Below link explains how it is doe: http://www.audiocircle.com/index.php?topic=119364.0 I think I posted my experience and some instructions here before but I cannot find the thread. Anyway, what I am wondering is if there is a way to do away with this extra step and have Squeezebox player play DSF files directly encapsulate and send the stream over the USB out in real time to a DSD capable DAC. Apparently, that has not been done?
