Hi there. I am struggling with my Squeezebox and after searching for hours reading answers and their opposites, I am finally posting this message. I am really sorry if this has been asked already, but I haven't found any clear answer !
So I have a Squeezebox Classic (v2/3) ... (and a Squeezeboom ... that I don't use anymore). - I have read that when the device is plugged to amplifier using digital output (I am using optical out) the internal DAC of the box is not used and box works as a pass-through - I have issue playing 192K FLAC ... when played from my NAS I face the buffering issue cause of the "transcoding" power required. So I am confused ... 1. if this is really pass-through ... why would the server transcode the FLAC ? 2. is this hardware limitation of my squeezebox classic (v2/3) ? 3. would this work properly with a touch using EDO ? Properly means no down-sample ... Thanks in advance for your wise feedback.
