The ports on the ethernet switch are all the same. Plug any device into any port you like.
Yes, you should be able to keep the same settings on the PC and existing Squeezebox. I don't recall if the steps to configure the Transporter's network configuration are the same, but it should be similar. Use the same subnet of 255.255.255.0. You can use any IP address beginning with "192.168.1." and with the last number anything from 1 to 254. Just don't use an address that's already in use by one of the other devices. There's no reason you need to use a number in the vicinity of 100, but 101 would probably make sense given the existing numbering scheme. For the cables, normally you'd use non-crossover cables, but with modern switches you can use either crossover or non-crossover cables and it will work just fine. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ JJZolx's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=10 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=101778 _______________________________________________ Touch mailing list Touch@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/touch
