The SBT/embedded LMS isn't a good music server, it's under-powered, and
can only cause frustration.

The picture below is a Raspberry Pi (small computer) with a Raspberry
touch screen, it runs piCorePlayer which is a purpose made operating
system, you can install LMS, attach your USB HDD/thumbdrive, or have
your music files on a NAS. It runs 24/7 (although you can of course
switch it off). Mine has an attached USB infra red receiver dongle, so I
can use my SBT remote.

You can use use your existing SBT/Squeezer, but it also has a built-in
player.

And* it works*, no problem!
