Ok. Now try rebooting the host machine and after LMS is started and
running, try rebooting the client to see if the Touch can reach LMS
after it runs its startup routine. Just to confirm it is not a software
firewall glitch, temporarily disable your local windows firewall if you
already have a hardware firewall enabled at your router. Make sure the
IP address assigned to the host machine has not changed after the
reboot. You can readily see LMS’ broadcast IP address under the
information tab in the web settings page. It should be exactly the same
as the address shown in windows networking and the same listed under
your router’s assignment table.

If rebooting the client reestablishes a connection, then it is more
likely an OS setting conflict vs. one with LMS. Again, you can always
force a static IP address in windows networking if there are any doubts
or inconsistencies. Make sure it is one outside the DHCP assignment
range if you do.

Either way, post the LMS server log so the program experts here can
pinpoint any errors specifically. Disabling all unused or unnecessary
plug ins on LMS, especially older third party ones that have not been
well-maintained, is always a good diagnostic practice.

I am no expert on LMS’s underlying code. And there is no indication yet
that LMS is the problem here. But if you determine the issue is with
LMS, sometimes a clean reinstall is faster and easier than hunting down
and correcting an application config error. Simply reinstalling LMS off
the installer (which is what you are likely doing) does not necessarily
overwrite all prior settings. If you conclude LMS the problem, then
consider a clean install. The steps for a complete uninstallation are
in the Wiki. Be sure that you save your playlists and favorites if you
do. Do a basic installation, and then enable only the additional plug
ins that you are actually using or require.

Again, I don’t think LMS is yet identified as your problem. But if you
decide to reinstall again, make sure it is a clean install.
