Rebuffering is due to not enough data getting to the player soon enough to play. Wirleless is a shared medium so it does not have as high a throughput as wired. So as suggested if there is large amount of metadata, it can delay the arrival of audio data which when over wireless may be significant. Depending on the file format there are other possibilities about compression and data tables all of which have similar effect - a big header on the file that must be sent before audio data can be played.
